Shavano Park
Shavano Park is located in Bexar County and is an enclave of the San Antonio Metropolitan area. This community is about 12 miles north of Downtown San Antonio and is entirely surrounded by San Antonio on all sides. Shavano Park is included in the Texas Hill Country, although the 3.3 square mile footprint of the city is on flat or gently rolling terrain. In 1881, Shavano was established by the Olmos Creek as a stagecoach and railroad stop between Boerne and San Antonio. In 1947, Shavano was the Stowers Ranch, which was purchased in 1956 for residential development. The city was incorporated in 1956 and the population has been increasing ever since. Shavano Park is known for being a small community of affluent individuals in a quiet neighborhood, where residents can take a short commute in any direction to San Antonio for entertainment. Some of the nearby attractions include the Natural Bridge Caverns, SeaWorld San Antonio, the Institute of Texan Cultures, Aquatica San Antonio and the Splashtown Waterpark.Sorry we are experiencing system issues.
